The Experience

At The Power Plant, Emmanuel Osahor creates a garden that only exists after sunset. His first major Toronto solo exhibition fills the Fleck Clerestory gallery with vibrant paintings of lush gardens, delicate drawings, handcrafted ceramics, and an immersive floor-to-ceiling photographic installation that surrounds visitors in perpetual twilight.

These gardens—some real, some imagined—explore the complex relationship between natural beauty and human intervention. Osahor, one of Toronto's emerging artists, uses the familiar comfort of garden scenes to draw us into deeper questions about survival, belonging, and how we create sanctuaries in an uncertain world.

The exhibition includes special workshops and programs that connect visitors with nature's regenerative power, offering fresh perspectives on the gardens that shape our cities and our lives.

To dream of other places invites you to slow down and discover beauty in unexpected places.

ABOUT THE POWER PLANT CONTEMPORARY ART GALLERY

The Power Plant is Canada's leading art gallery devoted exclusively to contemporary art by artists from Canada and the world. As we remain a non-profit institution, our aim is to share art with wider audiences through free admission to our exhibitions, public programs and educational publications.

Since 1987, The Power Plant has been on a mission to create an open culture and community with inspiring contemporary art and ideas. For the past 35 years, we've stayed true to our commitment to exhibit artists from diverse backgrounds, draw attention to pressing issues, and connect with communities from Canada and around the world through contemporary art. To this day, The Power Plant remains an open platform for thought-provoking art, ideas, and conversations.
